June update

June 1st-7th is National Volunteers Week. We have been thanking our volunteers this week for their amazing help over the past year, but we also want to thank all the people who regularly donate to the Food Bank, whether financially or by the various donation points in town and the South Lakes area. To you all, a very sincere thank you for your generous support.

So far this year we have received 564 referrals and supplied over 20,000 meals to individuals and families in desperate need. We have also been able to provide 14 kitchen set up packs for people moving our of local hostels into their own accommodation. A kitchen pack includes microwave, kettle, toaster, crockery and kitchen utensils costing about £140 each.

At the moment we have a bountiful stock of baked beans, an amazing pile of pasta, a super stock of soup and tons of tea!

If you are donating, then we are short of the following: tins of meat in sauce, tubs/boxes of instant mash, savoury rice, sugar and tins of rice pudding.  Thanks again for all your support.

April 2021 Update

In the first three months of this year we have received over 400 referrals and supplied over 15,000 meals into the local community helping many individuals and families in difficult situations.

We thank you again for every donation, your support is so important and valued. At the moment we are well stocked with pasta, baked beans, soup, rice and breakfast cereal. However, if you would like to add to your shopping we would appreciate tins of rice pudding, sponge puddings, instant pasta and packets of microwave rice, thank you.

Everyone needs help at some time, so if you are struggling, then please contact one of the agencies we partner with who can request food on your behalf. A list of our partner agencies can be found on our website.
